SK, Liptovský Ján – a Bike Trip to Javorie Klippe

Liptovský Ján offers many castles, curia, but also thermal spas, natural attractions (thermal spring Kaďa, caves) and indescribable views (from the local lookout tower or nearby hills). but we do not stay in the city, get on bikes and go to the magical Janska valley.

We pass local thermal pools, hotels and restaurants, even the area of Slovak cultural monuments (miniatures). we pass the nature trail, past wells, monuments or ski resort. the road runs along the Štiavnica River, which springs on the northeast slope of Ďumbier and flows into the Váh River. Our clue was a crossroad at the mouth of Staničovské valley.

The path meanders in places, surrounded by forests, but occasionally you can also see the majestic mountains. Gradually we get to the crossroads in Před Bystrou (there is a hunting lodge). we leave the blue-marked hiking trail and follow the red trail. so far road cycling has suddenly turned into mountain.

After quite a difficult climb we get to the tourist shelter. Here we leave our bicycles (which you should definitely lock) and head for the hiking trail approximately 50 meters away. the following route leads through a well-visible and paved path, and there are several climbs awaiting us, the difficulty of which is reduced by the views of the massive rock gorges. the peak of our efforts is the Javorie saddle (1 487 m above sea level), where a signpost informs us about other possibilities (ascent to the hills of Krakova hoľa, Tanečnica, etc.).

However, for time reasons we do not continue, we turn and go back. Along the way we enjoy views of the countryside, which is unfortunately sometimes devastated. Nevertheless, we consider this part cycling trip excellent.

The route from the crossroads at the mouth of the Stanišovská vallye to the crossroads in front of Bystrou takes about 30 minutes, then to the saddle Javorie it can handle the more skilled in an hour and a few minutes. the total elevation is just over 800 meters.
