The biking season is about to start. Today, we would like to invite you to a trip on a brand new biking trail with the total lenght of 230.91 kilometers. Though it is still bit early. the trail should connect towns of rich tradition, spirituality, treatment facilities, and amazing nature sceneries.
The new bike trail will partially cover existing trails (such as EuroVelo). yet also there will be brand new sections crossing protected nature areas (national parks and reserves). the trail should also pass the most important historic structures made of wood, or mineral water springs. the purpose behind the construction of the trail is to open the Slovak-Polish border area to tourists.
The bike trail should join the towns of Krynica, Muszyna, Piwniczna, Szczawnica, Vysne Ruzbachy, Stara Lubovňa, Lubovnianske Lazne, Bardejov, and Lazne Bardejov. Added value to the biking trail makes its connection to the existing bike trail of „Historical, cultural, and nature beauties around the Tatras", in the village of Hniezdne. the bike trail will feature some minor architectonic structures, 50 information panels, several restrooms, resting areas with bike stands, benches etc. for the most part, the trail will be layed with asphalt. at some sections, grinded stone cover will be used. the entire trail should be open by the end of the year 2018.
Via this unique bike trail you will reach 55 nature sights (reserves, Natura 2000 areas), 118 architectonic sights (castles, manors of nobility, UNESCO sights...), or 45 mineral water sights (thermal and other types of springs).
This biking trail is about to have its own web page, a mobile app, and a printed map which takes you for a ride to northeastern Slovakia. Therefore, when you set out to try something new, you will gain great impressions.
