Mountains were mysterious, still in morning mist, and sun was hidden behind mountain peaks. Local atmosphere was silent, and really freezing – hat and gloves are necessary.

The weather in the following morning was amazing and sunny. Upon packing all of our things we set off. Following the yellow tourist trail we reached a red route. Then we followed the green route which got us to Polana. There we climbed an unmarked trail up to the summit of the Vihorlat, the peak of the day.

Our plan for that day was to descend following the red tourist trail. we would travel through Ruske, once a village, Zalomy saddle to Runina village. the hike would take us around3 hours. However, actually it was one hour longer as we stopped often to take breathtaking pictures or to rest

After a long train ride we finally reached the easternmost village in Slovakia – Nove Sedlice. it was raining heavily at the time of our arrival therefore we headed right towards Kremenec guest house. Except for affordable prices they have quite good food. and we couldn’t refuse east Slovakian beer Saris. it was pretty water compared to Czech beers.
