After riding down the slopes around Saalbach we move to mountain Wildenkarkogel’s northern ridge. we follow the directions to Leogang.

First we see a four-seater first. Below there is a nice, white “highway”. it goes down to a valley in the east. a route there has many curves and is called Montelino Trail. Two less steep ski slopes go down the summits of Grosser Asitz Kleine Asitz. If you take a ride in a six-seater up to Kleine Asitz, note skiers and snowboard riders to the right. they show tricks they have learned.

the valley of Leogang

The mountain ridge right opposite to you makes the view from AsitzBräu of the valley of Leogang beautiful. a wide blue ski slope goes down to the valley and there is a J-bar lift on its top. This is great for beginning skiers, especially those who stay in Leogang. they can slide down while doing wide turns and enjoying the view, which is hard to experience on other short ski slopes. Experienced skiers can ride right downhill without even noticing the  Asitzbahn cable car’s intermediate station. to get entirely down take either black or red ski slope.

the view from Grosser Asitz

Often is this ski slope veiled into fog up to the middle chair lift station. However, once you get higher, the better view you get. Another option for a downhill ride is just behind the middle station. Just keep riding along the left side. a short chair lift with seats for four is the only chair lift where you can sunbathe while riding up the slope (only in favorable weather conditions). in case you find accommodation in Leogang, be sure to visit a sledge slope that is illuminated in the night.

Leogang often experiences foggy weather

titans partially hidden in fogthe view from Schattberg West

The third sector is the westernmost. There is the town of  Hinterglemm. it also offers many ski slopes. the main mountain here is Schattberg West. the view of two thousand-meter high mountain up from the mountain is splendid. Also, a short black ski slopes goes down right from the top. Usually the hardness of snow is good enough for nice drifting. a long red ski slope would get you back down to the valley. There are also great black ski slopes on Zwölferkogel mountain. the other side of the valley is good for less experienced skiers as ski slopes are of lesser difficulty there.

unfortunately, the state-of-the art chair lifts are often veiled into fog

In the entire resort, there are many good restaurants, street bars on the tops of the mountains or right on the ski lsopes. Well, the experience wouldn’t be full without Austrian beer and soup which you can have at any ski resort here. so, where would we have our next soup? you will learn it next week.
