Ski resorts in Lower Austria are known for offering opportunities for almost everyone who likes fun on the slope. Whether it is the family slope in Annaberg or the ski slopes of the Semmering World Cup, the Lower Austrian ski resorts offer everything - from very light to really challenging ski slopes.

The Lower Austria region is close to the Slovak and Czech borders and thanks to its varied snow experiences it is a suitable place for one-day excursions and shorter and longer holidays.

Lower Austria offers 24 ski resorts with over 200 kilometers of slopes serving nearly 100 ski tows and cable car. the slopes are mostly mild and wide and will appeal primarily to families and beginners. However, adrenaline lovers will come to visit in nine adventure ski centers. Cross country skiers will appreciate more than 800 km of modified routes. in the winter season 2018/2019, the ski areas of Lower Austria come with several novelties, which we bring you in the following lines.

During the last season, the most popular morning skiing in Annaberg, so this season you can enjoy even more Guga hö skiing. the combination of "Guga hö", derived from the Bridge Bridge, means "fresh as a fish". it is also called an experienced offer of ski areas in Mostviertel. Morning birds wait for an unforgettable experience at the selected dates, and this is a wonderful first downhill ride on the pristine slopes at sunrise. with a ski guide, you will discover the most beautiful places on the hill and then strengthen the region with regional delicacies in the mountain cabin.

New Anna-Park on Annaberg

A great new feature of the season is the new Anna-Park in Annaberg. in Anna-Park, both small and big. Action and entertainment in one are offered by two freestyle sections. in FunPark Family, Freestyle players can jump and train on obstacles, in the FunCross section with steep bends, snowflakes and jumps of 800m, both beginners and professionals. in Annaberg and Mönichkirchene, you can go down to the slopes without standing at the cash desk. Beginning with the winter season 2018/2019, you can also recharge your skipass conveniently from home or on holiday.

Slovak and Czech skiers like to visit the well-known ski slopes that offer first-class skiing fun and services. Hochkar is the largest resort in Lower Austria, with 19 kilometers of slopes. at 1,800 m above sea level there are excellent snow conditions for beginners and seasoned skiers.

Lackenhof will delight in its location right at the foot of Ötscher mountain. it offers numerous possibilities for accommodation right next to the ski slopes. This East-Alpine area with excellent snow conditions boasts downhill slopes of all difficulty levels as well as racing tracks.

From the top to the valley, Gemeindealpe can always surprise its visitors. Anyone looking for adventure will find him in Gemeindealpe. This area is suitable for families, freeriders, snowboarders and non-runners.

If you can not get enough of skiing, snowboarding and sliding down toboggans, you are at the right place at Zauberberg Semmering. they drive there long after 18:00, artificial lights illuminate every day and irradiate not only the slopes but also the surrounding countryside.

A varied family arena in St. Corona am Wechsel is a popular destination for families with small skiers. the remote is just 80 minutes from Vienna and offers everything beginners need for an introduction to skiing. at 350 meters long ski lift as well as 90, 35 and 9 meter long ski lifts, the skiers will learn everything they need. Besides, the snow park and snowpark, the U-ramp, as well as the special Fun, Speed & Racing Area, also provide snow entertainment. Festivals are especially popular on Fridays and Saturdays, because the slopes are open with artificial lighting until 20 o'clock.
