The Canadian city of Windermere is located on the eastern shore of the lake of the same name, which is located between two mountains, the Purcell Mountains in the west and the Rockies in the east. the city was founded in 1902 and was named after the city of Windemere in England. People visit Canadian Windemere mainly because of the beautiful nature.

When you are here, be sure to visit the public beach and swim in the waters of the lake. Swimming is very popular here because the water is relatively shallow and warm. Even if the weather is not the best for swimming, then at least you will enjoy the wonderful views. There are also plenty of places on the beach where you can spread a blanket and enjoy a picnic.

What is perhaps even better than swimming in a lake are the hot springs. they are only half an hour away by car from Windermere. you can choose from Fairmon Hot Springs, which is south of town and Radium Hot Springs, located north of Windermere.

The most famous of the historic buildings in Windermere is the so-called Stolen Church or St. Peter's Church. a woman from Donald once allegedly missed a visit to the church. at the turn of the century, her husband allegedly worked to have her adored church dismantled and transported by ship and train to the city of Golden. from there, the dismantled church was transported by stagecoach and steamer to Windemere.
